Commemorating Hrant Dink

In memory of Hrant Dink, killed in January 2007 in Istanbul (Turkey). Hrant Dink, born in 1954, was a journalist, member of the editorial team of the bilingual weekly Agos. Dink worked with Agos from 1996 till the day he was shot.

According to a report on telegraph.co.uk.posted on January 21st, 2007: “Eyewitnesses said the assailant was a teenager wearing a white cap and jeans. “He shouted ‘I shot the infidel’ as he ran away,” said Muharrem Gozutok, a restaurant owner.” (Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk). On October 7, 2005 Hrant Dink had been convicted under article 301 of the Turkish penal code, which deal with insulting ‘Turkishness’.

  1. da sich hr. orkun aktuna angeblich auch zum nationalistischen lager der türkei zählt, empfehle ich ihm den gestrigen, in der süddeutschen zeitung erschienenen, artikel auf seite 2 über eine türkischen rechtsanwalt zu lesen………
